Rachelle is a former construction engineer turned designer pursuing her long-time dream of designing quilt patterns. One summer as a bored teenager, she taught herself how to quilt using library books and has not looked back since. She enjoys the entire process of quilt making from the spark of inspiration to watching a written design turn into a tangible quilt.
Rachelle’s quilts often include geometric designs using solid fabrics in bright colors on dark backgrounds; she buys Kona Solids’ Black fabric by the bolt.
While staying at home during 2020, Rachelle turned to the online quilting community to for support and inspiration during the pandemic and is very appreciative of the friends she has made along the way.
Rachelle lives in rural Wisconsin with her husband, two cats, and a herd of cows. You can follow her quilty adventures on her blog, rachellehandmade.com or on Instagram @rachelle_handmade.
